Art Work > Quarantine Quilts

It’s July 2020, the summer is upon us and the pandemic continues. The murder of George Floyd in MN is a catalyst for masses of people around the world to protest the ongoing killing of Black people by police and to call for an end to systemic racism.

I chose the hot colors of red, yellow and pink to represent high temperatures both in the climate and the feelings of people everywhere. The graffiti style slogans used are inspired by those displayed on cardboard and other homemade signs as we protest unjust conditions for people of color.
