Quilts
The pandemic affected my work in many ways. During the early days when the weather was dark and cold, I started to create quilts. I was unable to go shopping for new fabrics and it seemed a perfect time to dive into my collection of assorted remnants. I studied traditional quiltmakers and learned about the wonderful quilts of Gees bend. My own quilts were not formally planned. I did not use patterns. I combined elements through an intuitive approach and the haptic appeal of certain textiles. The process felt freeing to me and comforting.
