Eco and Rust dye
With my series EARTHBOUND, I explore themes of memory, loss, preservation and ecology. I have recently moved to a rural area so farms and barns are capturing my attention. My gathered flowers, plants, and rust objects are printed on fabric to cover rocks or soft sculptures. I use sewing and wrapping to combine the diverse materials of rock, fabric and metal. Binding holds them close and provides a physical and symbolic connection.
